CHARITY THANKS |
FRANCIS HOUSE CHARITY WEDNESDAY
A huge thankyou to you all for your generous contributions to this month’s charity, Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury.
Together we have raised £1600 for this wonderful cause which means you have donated £3,200 in two months – just amazing.
My sincere thanks to the team who so willingly give of their time to organise and run our bridge on line – Adam, Alec, Espen, Jeff, Dave and Victor; without them I don’t know what we would do!
Next month’s Charity Wednesday will be on 24th June so please let me have your nominations for a worthy local cause. You can email me on
joyblakey2020@gmail.com.
Stay well, stay safe and keep playing bridge online.

MANCHESTER COUNTY CARES |
Remember our Charity Event 25th November for the benefit of The Compassionate Friends. Hardly has a charity like TCF been more relevant than in the time of Corona.
This Month we will be running our charity on RealBridge so that we will be more sociable than ever.
On Wednesday 25th November you will click HERE to join the tournament.
Over the past 7 months we have raised almost £7,150 for local Manchester Charities - We have every reason to pat our backs! We in the MCBA Online Committee would like to give all of the participants in our Charity events over the last 7 months a heartfelt thanks on behalf of all the charities we have supported.
Our members have written to me to support their favourite charity, which we are delighted to promote. Our next charities are:
November 25th (at the request of Eamonn Scott) for tcf.org (The Compassionate Friends) and
December 30th (at the request of Val Hoffman) Prevent - The Breast Cancer Prevention Charity at Wythenshawe Hospital.
We do hope you will continue your generous support of all these worthwhile causes- full details will be given each month and there will also be a 'Celebrity Auction'.
Please help us to fight the good fight.
Best wishes

Thanks to everyone who participated in the On-line charity Tournament on Wednesday 29th April. We had 22 tables and raised £1600 for St Anne’s Hospice. The event was won by Kevin & Celia Comrie.
We will be holding an on-line Charity Tournament on the last Wednesday of each month.
To register for the next event go to the menu on the top left. The registration form will be available from 13th May. Charities are suffering in this lockdown so if you know a deserving charity please contact us with suggestions.
I wish to thank the team of people who have brought us on line bridge in these difficult days. The County’s games are organised and run by players who do it purely out of their love of the game. These games give so much pleasure and begin to overcome some of the isolation we all feel.
Thanks first to Adam Wiseberg and Alec Smalley and Jeff Smith who did all the hard work setting up the games on BBO. Just as importantly to all the TDs and the players they have trained to TD on BBO; Espen Gisvold, Dave Tilley and Victor Ridding.
Let’s hope we get back to face to face bridge sooner rather than later but in the meantime enjoy the pleasures of on-line bridge.
Irene Davies.
