Constitution of the Manchester County Online Bridge Service
Constitution of the Online Bridge Service

We offer MCBA members along with associated (friends of) Manchester players  online bridge sessions using the BBO platform.  The current arrangements are:

  1. The events are run by a consortium of players (known as the BBO committee) currently:  Adam Wiseberg (Chairman), Alec Smalley, Espen Gisvold, David Barton, David Tilley,Jeff Smith and Victor Ridding.
  2. Players are asked to bear in mind that the purpose was to form a small community of local bridge players to play bridge online for social reasons.  There is currently no entry fee and no intention to award prizes.
  3. All operational details will be agreed by the BBO Committee including such issues as:
    1. Number of sessions;
    2. Timing of sessions;
    3. Length of sessions;
    4. Type of sessions – standard MP pairs, IMP pairs, special events etc
  4. The BBO committee will maintain a list of registered players and invite prospective players but in addition, each club will be responsible for promoting the online sessions to its own members
  5. The bridge is administered under the EBU Laws so any problems should be referred to the acting TD at the time. It is recognised that the TD’s ability to resolve irregularities is different to real life bridge. In such cases,  disagreements or disputes should initially be referred to the BBO Committee Chairman. This includes matters of etiquette and actions in breach of Best Behaviour.
  6. The BBO committee has the power to suspend or ban anyone for any reason that it deems fit.
  7. Any changes to these arrangements will be agreed by the BBO Committee.  If necessary a vote may be taken with each BBO committee member having one vote.  Any changes will require a majority in favour.
