Special Game Definitions and abbreviations

Special Game Definitions and  Abbreviations: 

A Sanctioned Game is one approved by ACBL 

CC: Club Championship. Each sanctioned game is entitled to one CC each quarter. Pays more than club games without extra card fees for players. 

MEM: Membership Game. Each sanctioned game is entitled to one Membership Game per year. Pays more than club or CC games without extra card fees for players. Both players are required to be an ACBL member. If the partnership has one unpaid member, neither will receive any master points. 

CA: Club Appreciation Games are held only in the month of October. 

  • CA Pair: No extra card fees and pays 81.25% of a sanctioned tournament game.
  • CA Team: No extra card fees and pays up to 81.25% of a sanctioned tournament game. 1st place pays up to .25 gold points with the balance in black points.

GNT: Grand National Teams. Held from September to February each year. Each district sends an A, B and C team to the Summer National Tournament to compete against all other districts to declare a National winner. The team chosen begins their competition at the club level and qualifies to compete at the district level. The winning District teams are given a stipend to help with the cost of attending the National event. GNT’s pay more master points than regular club games and cost only 25 cents extra for each game. That is the purse money that helps defray their expenses.
