Zoom Video Teaching Sessions
Every Tuesday 2pm
Every Tuesday afternoon at 2pm Peter White will host a Zoom presentation followed by a Bridge Base Online mentoring session using prepared hands relevant to the presentation. A number of Lytham's teaching team will be available during the BBO session to offer guidance. If you wish to join the group and see the presentations please contact Peter White by telephone (log in to Members Information area for the telephone number) or send an email to the club at email@example.com. Further sessions are being considered - requests for Transfers and Weak Twos have already been made.
Bridge Base Online
The EBU run four 12-board sessions every day on Bridge Base Online. Sessions start at 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 7:30pm and 9:00pm. The timing of these sessions mean that you can play a 24-board session starting at 1:30pm or 7:30pm, with a short break after 12 boards. EBU masterpoints are awarded, and there is a small charge for each session.
Bridge Club Live
Lytham Bridge Club have registered with the Bridge Club Live website. Now any member of the club who is also a member of Bridge Club Live can play online bridge with their Lytham partners and gain master points in BCL competitions. If you would like to join BCL please click here to register. The cost is only £1 for the first 30 days and you can play up to 96 boards per day. Further information about BCL can be found on the EBU website here.
We are sad to report that Lona Nuttall died on Monday 27th April in Clifton Hospital. She was 91 and had been a member of the club for over 30 years. She went into Blackpool Victoria Hospital over two weeks ago and was transferred to Clifton Hospital last week. Sadly, she had caught the coronavirus. She played bridge three times a week, Tuesday afternoon, Friday afternoon and Saturday evening until last October, and she supported all parties, lunches and teas at the club with great enthusiasm and appreciation. She will be very sadly missed.

WELCOME TO LYTHAM BRIDGE CLUB
Lytham Bridge Club is located in the heart of Lytham St. Annes in our own purpose-built clubhouse bungalow. The club has a large comfortable playing area and all the facilities you'd expect from a well-supported club - a car park and ample street parking, easy access to the building, facilities for the disabled, and catering facilities with five star accreditation.
We are the only bridge club in the Lytham St. Annes area which is affliated to the English Bridge Union, which means our members all benefit from the support offered by the country's governing body. Our members automatically become members of the EBU so they have the opportunity to earn master points and be able to monitor their personal progress and compare it with other local and national players. They can also play in EBU-sponsored events. Lytham Bridge Club is over 60 years old so we have plenty of experience to help our members become better players.
Our regular sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are hosted sessions so you don't need a partner - if you come along on your own you will be guaranteed a game. We also have regular sessions on Mondays and Saturdays. Details below.
The first annual World Online Championship will be launched on Thursday 12th December. The championship is a free online competition sanctioned by the World Bridge Federation and the English Bridge Union. The competition will be held from March to August 2020 with a live final in November 2020. The Championship is open to any bridge player wishing to take part, and is not just fun and challenging but also has really impressive cash prizes on offer!
Anyone with an interest in online bridge can find further details by clicking here.
