We are very sad to report the death of Susanna Gross on 11th November, after a long illness.
Susanna was the bridge columnist for the Spectator from 2000 onwards and she was a very talented and successful player, who represented her country many times. She won the Lady Milne in English women's teams four times and was part of the England Mixed Team at the 2016 World Bridge Games. She won numerous domestic competitions, including the Hubert Phillips Bowl, the Corwen Trophy, the Easter Congress Guardian Trophy, the teams event at the London Year End Congress and the Whitelaw Cup. In London, she won the London Championship Pairs three times and the Mixed Pairs Championship twice, most recently in 2024 with Sebastian Atisen.
Susanna was a bright and lively personality who was much loved throughout the bridge community and she will be very much missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to all Susanna's family and friends.
