The trophies have now been engraved with the 2018 winners names and the Club would like to present these at either of the bridge sessions on Monday 24th June or Wednesday 26th June.
The trophy winners names are shown in the appropriate part of this website so, if you are a winner, it would be great if you can attend one of these sessions.
The Committee apologises this has taken longer to organise this year than in previous years.
The Lincolnshire County Bridge Association is actively building an e-mail database of all members so that, for the next playing season, members can receive direct notification of County competitions, plus any other relevant County bridge information. Members of all the county bridge clubs, including City of Lincoln, are automatically members of Lincolnshire County Bridge Association and therefore the County have requested adding e-mail addresses held by clubs to build this database.
This will provide a much better way to ensure all members are aware of county competitions - rather than relying on the vagaries of club noticeboards or timely announcements at bridge sessions.
Under GPDR we want to ensure our members have the right to opt-out of this, so any club members who do not want this detail shared can opt-out, please advise this to email@example.com by 30th June, 2019 if this the case. E-mails will only be used for County bridge purposes and are not shared with 3rd parties.
Hopefully members will appreciate this is a positive step to help grow the Lincolnshire Bridge community and improve events for the benefit of us all.
Members always have the future right to unsubscribe at any time.
The City of Lincoln Club teaches bridge on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the Lindum Sports Association, St. Giles Avenue, Lincoln LN2 4PE.
New teaching classes will start in September, please see this website for more details in due course. If you are interested in either Beginner or Improver Classes please contact Janet Collins by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A new item on the menu page, Laws of Bridge, has been added and occasional items about Rulings will be added over time. Members are encouraged to look at these. Whilst the Laws of Bridge exist ultimately to cope with, thankfully, very rare instances of cheating, they are more often needed to protect players from being inadvertently damaged by innocent errors made. It is good to know the essential laws of our game. If anyone has any rulings examples they would like to raise please advise Chris Phillips at email@example.com.
We put some interesting hands in this section from time to time, they are aimed at the typical club player who wants to get better. Why not have a look? If you have any nominations please let us know.
The Club is aware of a number of members who do not have regular partners for one or more of our scheduled bridge sessions.
If you are interested finding a regular partner please contact Secretary Janet Collins (01522 702030) for more information.
More pairs playing ensures every bridge session is better attended and more enjoyable for all.
Or are you visitor looking for a one-off game? Please contact Janet (as above) or Elaine Proctor (01522 878059) and we can try and find. partner for you.
