The City of Lincoln Club teaches bridge on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the Lindum Sports Association, St. Giles Avenue, Lincoln LN2 4PE. Many club members are now playing regularly who started bridge via these sessions.
New classes will start on 10th September, 2019 for all previous students, whilst newcomers are invited to come along from Tuesday, 17th September onwards. If you are interested in either Beginner or Improver Classes please contact Janet Collins by email at email@example.com.
Note to all club members and students, the club has generated a 'flyer' to publicise the new teaching classes, can be opened or downloaded by clicking on this link. Could all members please try and use this to publicise amongst friends, family or position on any noticeboards they think may stimulate interest. Further copies will be available at club sessions. Thank you.
City of Lincoln Club members please note that the final calendar of competitions for the 2019.20 season is now on the Lincs Bridge website. Final entries are also being sought for the Teams of 4 competitions - the Lincs Gold and Lincs League.
The first event of the year is the Ghost Pairs, a very popular format, which is being held on Sunday, 13th October at 12pm at Dunholme Village Hall. Entry is £5, please let Glynn Elwick have your entry as soon as you can (see Lincs Bridge website or the Club noticeboard for more details).
A new item on the menu page, Laws of Bridge, has been added and occasional items about Rulings will be added over time. Members are encouraged to look at these. Whilst the Laws of Bridge exist ultimately to cope with, thankfully, very rare instances of cheating, they are more often needed to protect players from being inadvertently damaged by innocent errors made. It is good to know the essential laws of our game. If anyone has any rulings examples they would like to raise please advise Chris Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We put some interesting hands in this section from time to time, they are aimed at the typical club player who wants to get better. Why not have a look? If you have any nominations please let us know.
The Club is aware of a number of members who do not have regular partners for one or more of our scheduled bridge sessions.
If you are interested finding a regular partner please contact Secretary Janet Collins (01522 702030) for more information.
More pairs playing ensures every bridge session is better attended and more enjoyable for all.
Or are you visitor looking for a one-off game? Please contact Janet (as above) or Elaine Proctor (01522 878059) and we can try and find. partner for you.
