These results are provisional as there are two appeals in the Dawes match.

There was a query about whether the match should be scored as two teams of four added together or as cross-IMPs. If it was scored as two teams of four added together then the results would be 9-10, 5-15 and 0-20. But if it was scored as cross-IMPs then the results would be 10-10, 4-16 and 0-20.

The league rules state a preference for scoring as cross-IMPs, but leave it up to the two Match Organisers to make the final decision.

The League Controller consulted a independent National TD who ruled as follows:

• I rule that the match should be scored according to the recommended method (RealBridge ‘ximp’ = Cross IMPs).
• Given that the Match Organisers did not explicitly choose a different form of scoring when choosing the platform, the failure of the TD to select the recommended method should be seen as a TD error and given that this error can be corrected by rescoring the match, this is what should happen.
• There is precedent of events being scored online by the wrong method – due to error in setup or limitations of the platform – and where this can be corrected after the event, it has been done so.
