Selection Process
County Player Obligations 18thOctober 2024
1)  Selectors write to our pool of players each season asking for availability for match dates and on which platforms – F2F, BBO, RealBridge. This should also include their list of partners. An exception is the Tollemache where Selectors will prioritise.
2)  When a player returns as being available for a match, they need to reserve as a definite commitment until a selection has been made.
3)  Selections should be made at least 6+weeks before any match. They should include a reserve pair.
4)  All players on reception, need to reply and confirm within a week they can play or otherwise. This includes Reserves.
5)  In addition Selectors should send out a reminder 2 weeks before a match.
6)  If a player subsequently becomes unavailable, they need to inform us as soon as possible. This has not always happened causing later disruption.
It also gives us more time, so Selectors can swap around players to different matches.
7) It’s helpful if players switch divisions in the NBL as needed.
Selection of Lancashire Teams

Selection of Lancashire Teams Updated 3rd May 2024

1. All players must be members of the EBU and LCBA. Players in the Tollemache must have first allegiance to Lancashire. Any member (Primary, Dual or Associate) may play in any other match.
2. Teams to represent LCBA will be selected annually for the Tollemache Cup, the Northern Bridge League and matches against Cumbria and Manchester. Players will be invited to form their own team in the Presidents Cup.
3. Teams will be picked by a Selection Committee, which will be appointed by the LCBA Trustees and ratified at the AGM.
4. The Selection Committee maintains a database of pairs of suitable standard to represent the County. Prospective new players who wish to be considered should make themselves known to the Chairman of Selectors.
5. Criteria employed in the selection of teams include established experience; involvement and performance in National, Regional LCBA County and Club events; and a desire to give pairs of sufficient ability the opportunity to represent the County.

6. Selection of the team to represent Lancashire in the Tollemache Cup will be based on picking the best available pairs.
