Garden Cities Regional Final

Lancashire finished 2nd equal in the Regional Final held on 12th May 2024. Unfortunately, they lost on a split tie for qualification to the Garden Cities Final.

Garden Cities Regional Final 2021

Hard luck to the Preston team in the Northern Garden Cities Regional Final on 8 May 2021. They finiished 5th with four teams qualifying for the Final.

Garden Cities Final 2019

The Garden Cities Final took place on Sat 15 June 2019 with the Preston Team:

Catherine Draper and Andrew Woodcock
Andrew Petrie and Bill Alston

Seven seven matches, after 5, preston was leading the field...but then lost the 6th heavily 20 0 and the last match marginally and came a respectable 4th

Garden Cities Regional Final 2019

Well done Preston BC Team of 8 that finished 2nd in the Regional Garden Cities Heat at Bradford on 28th April 2019 and qualify for the Final later in the year.
The Regional Finals of the Garden Cities trophy took place over the weekend in four locations. The top two teams at each qualified for the National Finals, which will take place on 15th June. In the heat at Bradford BC,  Preston (Lancashire) finished 2nd - (John Brearley, Andrew Lum, Bob Loveridge, Mike Tomlinson, Don Hilton, Dagmar Fazackerley, Bill Alston, Andrew Petrie)

Garden Cities Regional Final 2016

The Garden Cities Regional Final was held at Bradford Bridge Club on Sat 7th May. The Preston Bridge Club team of 8 finished 4th out of the six teams. Manchester BC and Deva BC qualified for the final.

Garden Cities Final 2015

The Bolton Bridge Club Team representing Lancashire of Austin Barnes/Jeff Smith, Mike Nicholson/Des King, Paul/Hilda William and Stuart Norris/Rod Greenhalgh finished sixth in a strong Garden Cities Team of 8 Final on Saturday 13th June 2015.   They competed against seven other club teams who had qualified from regional finals.  Congratulations to the Manchester Bridge Club members Andrew Woodcock and Catherine Draper who finished in the winning Manchester team.  Full results are on the EBU web site.
 

Garden Cities Regional Final 2015

The Bolton Bridge Club team, who qualified as our county representatives by winning the Teams of Eight, have qualified for the National final of the Garden Cities winning the regional final at Bradford on Saturday 9th May 2015.  The players were Austin Barnes, Jeff Smith, Paul & Hilda Williams, Stuart Norris, Rod Greenhalgh, Mike Nicholson and Des King. The team arrived late at Bradford taking a long detour, with the M62 closed dues to a potential jumper at the M62 Junction 23 bridge. As other teams were delayed, the start time was generously adjusted by the TD Chris Benneworth so no boards were forfeited. The National final is played on Saturday 13th June 2015 at West Midlands Bridge Club in Solihull, B91 3EP. Play will start at 1pm. Full results on the EBU website.

Garden Cities Regional Final 2014

Bolton BC finished 4th out of 8 teams in the regional final of the Garden Cities on 10 May 2014. The team was A Barnes/J Smith, M Nicholson/D King, S Norris/R Greenhalgh, P & H Williams. Further details on the EBU site.
