In the Northern Easter Festival at Ilkley, Jeff Smith and Jackie Pye teamed up with Peter Stocken and Phillip Mason to win the Swiss Teams. Bill Wattleworths team (B&L Wattleworth, P Richmond & R Allison) finished 4th and Jeff Wilkins team (J & A Wilkins, J Halliwell  & L Smith) finished 6th.
In the Swiss Pairs, the leading Lancashire players were J Halliwell/LSmith in 8th place and B & L Wattleworth in 10th place.

Congratulations to Sue and Nick Woodcock who won the Swiss Pairs at the Summer Seniors Congress 2016 at Eastbourne.

Congratulation to Andrew & Veronica Petrie, Bill & Liz Wattleworth who won the Multiple Teams B Final in the Summer Congress at Scarborough.

At the EBU Northern Midweek Congress held at Wakefield, the three session Championship Pairs was won by Jeff Smith & Jackie Pye (just ahead of John Dakin & Eddie Lucioni). In the Teams, Duncan & Diane Ault, John & Cath Ashworth finished 3rd behind two strong Yorkshire based teams and were the leading 'B stratified' team. Well done to John Brearley/Ross Shine who finished 3rd and Bob Loveridge/Helen Montgomery who finished 10th of 98 pairs in the Great Northern Swiss Pairs held at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds over October 2/3. Full Results at Great Northern Swiss Pairs.

Congratulations to the team of Jeff Smith, Jackie Pye, John Holland and Alan Mould and semifinal substitute Rhona Goldenfield in reaching the Hubert Philips Bowl Final. The Hubert Philips Bowl is the mixed teams-of-four championships of England, named after the former EBU chairman, Hubert Phillips. They beat the Hinden team in the semi final, with Rhona playing as substitute as Jackie was recovering from a recent operation, They will play the winners of the other semi final between Sally Brocks team and Michael Byrnes team. 

The Northern Easter Bridge Festival was held at Ilkley on the weekende 14th-16th April. Lancashire successes included Open Pairs - Jeff Smith with John Holland of Manchester winning, Swiss Pairs - Nick & Sue Woodcock finished 2nd, Brian Irlam & Nihar Mitra 5th and Jeff & Ann Wilkins 6th,  Swiss Teams - Michael Tomlinson & Linda Smith, Jeff & Ann Wilkins finishing 2nd in the Swiss Teams.

Well done to Nick & Sue Woodcock who finished 2nd in the Eastbourne Summer Senior Teams playing with the Chris and Helen Kinloch.

The annual Harrogate Spring Congress run by the Yorkshire CBA was held at the Cairn Hotel from 16-18 Feb 2018.  The Swiss Teams event attracted 57 teams and was won by Jeff Smith & Jackie Pye, John Holland & Alan Mould. Full results available on EBU web site.

Congratulations to Les Hoy & Mike Tomlinson who won the recent EBU Sims on Thursday 3rd May at Poulton Bridge Club and also won the competition nationally with 74.08% over the whole UK!

Well done to Jackie Pye along with John Holland, Jeremy Dhondy, Bill Hirst who won the Scarborough Multiple Teams held on 26th July2018 in the Scarborough Congress.

Following their win at Deva the previous week, congratulations to another success for Andrew Petrie & Catherine Draper who won the National Pairs Heat at Bradford on Sunday 10Mar2019 and qualified for the 50 player final at Stratford on 6/7 April 2019.

Congratulations to Jackie Pye who played with John Holland, Alan Mould & Michael Newman to win the Swiss teams in the Northern Easter Festival at Ilkley. Bury Athaneum A team has reached the latter stages of the Nicko Plate beating the Preston A team in the 3rd round. The team is Paul Worswick, Dave Hammonds, Andy Green & Paul Beckwith. Good Luck in the next round!

In the Senior's Pairs on July 24-25th, Jackie Pye and John Holland were second.  In the Teams on July 26th, Jackie and John won the Multiple Teams B Final with Bill Hirst and Jeremy Dhondy.  Sue Woodcock and Stuart Clarke, Nick Woodcock and Sue Fjortoft won the Open Teams Consolation. In the main Swiss Pairs on July27-28, Nick Woodcock and Sue Fjortoft finished second, and Sue Woodcock and Stuart Clarke finished 5th out of 108 pairs. Congratulations to all. Congratulations to Bob Loveridge, Nick Sutcliffe, Mike Tomlinson, Jeremy Stanforth, Linda Smith who have qualified for the final of the Crockfords Plate. They beat a strong team from Young Chelsea in London in a closely fought match.  They will now play in the national final, joining 7 other teams to play in an all-play-all, multi-teams event at Coventry, on the weekend of Saturday 31 August.  Lancashire County wishes them the very best of luck in the final.

Two players from Preston Bridge Club - Kate Webb and Jan Edwards competed in the EBU Easy congress and won one Afternoon Pairs Event and were second in the SwissPairs.

The annual Blackpool Year End Congress was held at the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool from 28-30 Dec 2019. Well done to successful Lancashire pairs. The Mixed Pairs was won by  Jeffrey Smith & Rhona Goldenfield, second were Jackie Pye & John Holland. The Swiss Pairs was won by John Dearing & Jeremy Stanforth. The SwissTeams was won by Jeffrey Smith & Rhona Goldenfield, Jackie Pye & John Holland. In third place were Keith Stewart, John Wittaker, John & Ros Halliwell. Full results on the EBU site.

Congratulations to the Preston team of Mike Tomlinson, Linda Smith, Don Hilton, Dagmar Fazackerley and Richard Hilton who have reached the quarter final of the 2021-2022 NICKO competition. They have beaten some very strong teams along the way including Michael Byrne's Bramhall team and David Robinson's Sheffield team in the last two rounds.
