ONLINE Swiss Pairs - Sunday 13th December 2026    (BLUE POINTED)  BBO

This event will be held online (BBO, for variety, there are lots of events on RealBridge) on Sunday 13th December 2026.

Please be online by 12.45 for a prompt start at 1.00pm. 

There will be six 6-board matches. Session 1: 1.00pm - 3.15pm, 18 boards, Session 2: 3.45pm - 5.45pm, 18 boards.   

Entry Fee: £9 per player-:  All players welcome, from Kent or wider afield, whatever your ability. You play pairs with roughly the same score after round 1 (which is a random draw). If there are a good number of non-expert pairs then there will be a prize for the highest placed non-expert pair. 

PRIZES: to top 10% of pairs playing, using 20% of entry fees and to  leading non-expert pair (NGS 9 on day of event). 

(players who have indicated that they are non-expert must ensure their NGS on their MyEBU is set to be Public viewable  [or having no ranking because e.g. they play at a non-affiliated club]. The TD will check using NGS viewer: NGS (ebu.co.uk).

This competition will be played over the weekend of 23rd / 24th January 2027, 11am start

Divisions 1 & 2 play on Sunday 24th January 2027 and Division 3 & 4 play on Saturday 23rd.

The entry fee will be the same as 2020, no increase i.e. £140 per team in division 1 (the winners qualify to represent Kent in the Garden Cities on Saturday 8th May 2027), and £84 per team in divisions 2-4

16 teams entered.  There will be two seeded teams who will not play in round 1 :

        Mike Hampton, Michael Prior, Norman Selway, Kay Preddy

and Peter Law, Gerald Tredinnick, Ian Draper, Joe Sivayogan, Steve Auchterlonie

The two seeds are placed in opposite halves of the draw so that they are scheduled to play each other in the final. One of the seeds will play in round 2 to reduce the number of teams to 8, then all remaining 8 teams play from there on. The draw can be seen at 2026-27 ARNOLD DRAW. All round 1 matches should be arranged by Tuesday 13th October and played by 15th November. Each home team captain should add the date of the match as it is arranged into your MyEBU....
