Year 2 Improvers Bridge

The teacher is Nick Perrin.

This course is aimed at students who have completed year 1 of the EBU Beginners course or anyone else with some experience of bridge who wants to improve.

Areas Covered

Developing the Auction:  Intermediate bidding techniques, including overcalls, take-out doubles, and responding to partner's competitive bids.

Competitive Bidding: Strategies for when both sides are bidding, such as weak twos in diamonds, hearts, and spades, and the Landy defense to a 1NT opening.

Declarer Play: Advanced techniques for planning the play, including the use of finesse, ruffing in dummy, and handling trumps.

Defensive Guidelines:Guidelines for opening leads, signaling, and defensive strategy, including conventions such as losing trick count and splinter bids.

Slam Bidding:  Introduction to techniques for identifying and bidding small slams and grand slams

Hosted Social Play 

Saturday mornings 10am till 12 noon

This session is aimed at new bridge players and will introduce them to playing in the club, using the bridgemates and scoring.
There will be experienced club players there to help you with your bidding and play.

Cost £5 per session.
