Kenilworth Bridge Club Frequently Asked Questions Pairs League
1. Question:how many boards do we play against opposition?
Answer: 18
2. Question:How do I set up the matches?
Answer: One of your pair needs to be the Organiser – agree what times and days you both are available. Then contact other people in your Division (all contact details are on this email) and arrange to play them between September 12th and 19th December. You should also agree who will be setting up the table on that day, i.e. the ‘home’ team and the ‘away’ team.
3. Question: How do we all agree what the final score is?
Answer: You need to look at the History tab within BBO when you are logged into BBO....and then click on ‘My Table’ At the bottom of that screen, , it will show the final numbers ( e.g. 13.5 – 8 or 9.8 – 10.9). Your pair organiser needs to agree the final score with the other pair, either in the Chat box or by phone or by email.
4. Question: What happens if we go on and play more than 18 boards by mistake?
Answer: keep a note of the score and just deduct it from the overall score and agree it with your opponents.
5. Question: What happens if we have a dispute over one of the boards as there is no TD to call?
Answer: We would hope that any differences would be resolved between all parties. If not, then make a note of that board and what the dispute is and send your query to Kris for a decision. kris.pears@outlook.com
6. Question: Who do I send the final scores to?
Answer: Tony Hudson hudson.j7@sky.com
7 Question. What do I do if other pair are unprepared to set a date to play?

8. Question: What happens if I can’t set up the table properly at the start?
Answer: Try and get help from the other pair. If you can not resolve it, then you may have to agree to postpone the match and get some interim training before replaying it.
9. Question: what happens if a computer crashes during the match and the player cannot get back on-line?
Answer: Talk to each other and, if necessary, re-arrange the match.
10.Question: Where can I see my results and status in the League Table?
Answer: All the results and Division status will be on the KBC website
11.Question: How did the Club decide what Division I should be in?
Answer: We looked at the National Grading System in the English Bridge Union that all of your scores get uploaded to every time you play in a Club game. This system gives you an overall grade...we have added together that of yours and your partner to grade everyone.
12.Question: Who will know my contact details?
Answer: As we said when you signed up for this competition, your contact details will be shared only within your own division so that you can get your matches set up.
