Martin Cosh

65 friends and former colleagues met at Kenilworth Bridge Club, on Wednesday 2nd July, to celebrate Martin's life and reminisce about the times we have shared with him.

We are very sad to report that Martin Cosh passed away on 2 June following a long period of poor health which he bore stoically.

Martin had an encyclopaedic knowledge of KBC. He had been a scorer, TD, duplimator , committee member, treasurer (twice), company secretary and Chairman. Since stepping back from these roles, he still provided 24/7 computer support; always willing to give advice or turn out to solve the problem. He was familiar with all the idiosyncrasies of the KBC systems and produced many useful notes for us.  He very patiently taught many of us to score. This spring he devised and helped us to organise the very successful, “Handicapped pairs “event in club .

He was a perfect partner, always positive and charming to play with.

His other passion was cricket. He loved watching county and international matches, particularly test cricket. We will miss him

New Session at KBC: Novice Duplicate (hosted). From Wednesday morning 4th June.

New Novice Duplicate £5 per session.

Starting Wednesday mornings from 4th June, 10am start to 12 noon (with tea/coffee from 9.30am )

There will be a host so you don't need a partner, just turn up.

These sessions are aimed at all players who want to move into playing in regular club duplicate sessions.

Suitable for all students, however, everyone welcome, whatever experience level.

There will be experienced club players present to help you enjoy playing in a duplicate session.

The sessions will be scored so you can look at the hands afterwards, on the website.
