This was a fantastic day of bridge with 76 members attending.  Andrew divided the session into 4 sections each covering a different topic: the importance of showing shape in bidding; planning ahead to avoid repeating a five-card suit; fourth suit forcing (FSF) to show and to ask; overcalling and using the unassuming cue bid or BOSS (Bidding Opener's Suit with Support).

As well as covering these bidding topics, Andrew shared strategies for both declarer and defender play through the replaying of prepared hands.   This was very enlightening to everyone there and may well lead to lots of different approaches in future!  I will certainly be thinking about playing on my long suits first before taking trumps out amongst many other things!

Many thanks go to Andrew for running such an informative and supportive session.  Also to all those involved with arranging the day, particularly to Val, Jane M and Bernard for the superb organisation and smooth running of the day including all the food and refreshments.

Saturday morning Social Play

We run a Saturday morning social play session. Everyone welcome especially non members.  Please just turn up no matter how experienced you are. We have a host available so you don’t need a partner. £5 per session.

Novice Duplicate Sessions.

Our Novice duplicate session on Tuesdays at 1.30pm to 3.30pm  are for players who want to experience club duplicate sessions but with a little help from more experienced players.
