| Betty Limb Cup 2025-26 |
The Betty Limb Cup for individuals was won by Sarah Bullock with Sally-Ann Rothwell in 2nd place and Amanda Etherington in 3rd place. The competition, which was played on Sunday 5 Oct, attracted 32 entrants and took place in a friendly atmosphere with a delicious tea at half time. Full results here. | Swiss Weekend 2025 |
Several Kendal members enjoyed the joint Westmorland/Cumbria Swiss weekend, 20/21 September 2025. Many thanks to John Ellwood and Chris Ward for being the main organisers.
In the Saturday teams, Mike and Sally-Ann Rothwell, John Maclachlan and Robin Rose came 3rd.
In the Sunday pairs, the winners were Babs Matthews and John Farmer. Mike and Sally-Ann came 2nd=.

| Hargreaves Cup 2024-25 |
Congratulations to Jill & Chris Yates for winning the Hargreaves Cup 2024-25 which is awarded to the pair, both of whom must be below NGS grade 7 at season start, who achieve the highest average top 10 scores in Tuesday F2F Pairs over the season (September to July). The cup was presented by Duidley (Hargreaves) in whose honour the cup is named.

Over the past 15 years, Richard Brazier has held various positions in the Club and has been a prominent member of both the Trustees and the Bridge committee, being Chairman of both. Kendal lost its match played against Keswick on Sunday 13th April 2025 by 27 IMPs.
So Keswick retain the Dunmail Plate. But we did enjoy splendid refreshments at half time.

Tim Harrison and Richard Brazier won the final heat of the Carson Cup to confirm themselves as overall winners with an average score of 61.52%, ahead of Mike & Sally-Ann Rothwell (59.58%) and Jeremy Harris & Russell White (59.47%).

Kendal played Lancaster on Sunday 19 January.
Congratulations to the Kendal team who won by 132 IMPs so retaining the Parkinson Trophy.

| Ellis Cup 2024 |
The Ellis Cup semi final and final were played on Monday18th November 2024. It was won by Mike and Sally-Ann Rothwell, Robin Rose and John MacLachlan who beat the team comprising Babs Matthews, John Farmer, Ian Reeves and Tim Matthews by 4 imps. In the semi Finals, Team Rothwell beat Team Wilkinson (Chris Wilkinson, Martyn Harris, Tim Harrison and Richard Brazier) by 31 imps and Team Matthews beat Team Mitchell (Janice Mitchell, Janice Hornby, Bob Boyd and John Nicholls) by 28 imps. The 3rd place play off was won by Team Wilkinson by 1 point.

| Autumn Wraight Handicap Cup Autumn 2024 |
In a phenomenally close competion which saw the top 4 separated by a mere 0.5%, victory went to Shaffin Jaffer and Ken Orford. They scraped in ahead of Lynn Percival and Diana Smethurst closely followed by Margaret and Dennis Pook and Sabina and Bernard Houssin.

| Betty Limb Individual Cup 2024 |
Sunday 6th October 2024 saw the first club trophy of the year awarded. It was competed for in a friendly atmosphere (helped by an excellent spread) by a field of 36 players of all standards. It was won by Martyn Harris (so he now has a Limb to go with his 200 hands), with Tim Harrison and John Ellwood close on his heels. Well done to Martyn for both his organisational and his playing skills. And thank you to all who attended. |

| Hargreaves Cup 2024 |
For the second year running the Hargreaves Cup (for individuals playing F2F on Tuesdays) has been won jointly by Debbie and Roger Wilkinson - Congratulations to them. The cup was presented by Duidley (Hargreaves) - in whose honour the cup was named.
For this year (Sept to July), the cup will be run as a pairs competition restricted to pairs both of whom are below NGS 7 on 1st September. Again it will be for Tuesday F2F players.

| Monday Cup 2024 |
The Monday Cup runs on Mondays (there's a shock) from September to July. It is open to anyone who is NGS 8 or lower on 1st September. This year it was won by Brian Smith and John Nicholls.

| Summer Plate 2024 |
The Summer Plate runs over the same timeframe on Tuesdays for BBO players. It is handicapped by NGS and for the second year running has been won by Amanda Etherington and Martyn Harris.

We are thrilled to report that Patricia White has completed her three long distance events in aid od the Stroke Association, namely:
- 26 May Manchester Road Half Marathon
- 2 June Grasmere Trail Marathon
- 13 July Lakeland Trail Ultra 55k
Patricia would like to thank all of you sincerely for your amazing support for her series of challenges: not only for your really generous donations but all your encouraging comments over these last weeks. |
Kendal beat Barrow in their first face to face match since Covid to retain the trophy. The Kendal Team (Chris Wilkinson and David Harris, Andrew Peill and John Farmer, Ray Gregory and Brian Smith, Ken Orford and Bill Thomson, John and Wendy Ellwood and Hilary Parker and Chris Banks) ran out the victors by 103 imps.

| Annual Cups Awarded 2023 |
The club's three trophies that are fought out over the year (September to July) have been awarded.
The Hargreaves Cup is awarded to the Tuesday Face to Face Individual with the highest average score of their best ten results. This has been won jointly by Roger and Debbie Wilkinson with a fantastic score of 69.58. Dudley, who the cup is named after, presented them the trophy. Helen Finch and Moira Williams were 2nd and 3rd.

The Monday Cup is awarded to the pair ranked below Advanced Master with the best average of their top ten results. Steve Douglas and Ken Orford retained the trophy with a score of 58.86. Sarah Bullock and Philip Burley were 2nd, and Amanda Etherington and Andrew Peill third.

The Summer Plate is played on Tuesdays on BBO. It is a pairs competition that is handicapped by NGS. This year's winners are Martyn Harris and Amanda Etherington with a score of 63.1. The runners up were Hilary Storey and Jacky Truelove with Roger and Catherine Preston coming third.
