Anniversary celebration
It is now 12 years since Javea Bridge Club moved into their own clubhouse in Avenida de Paris, near Javea Park in the Arenal area. Over this time, they have run well over 2,500 duplicate sessions and helped dozens of people to learn how to play or improve their game of bridge. To celebrate this anniversary, the club held a special Pairs Tournament on Saturday 27 October followed by a delicious meal out at Attico Restaurant in Javea Port.
Javea Bridge Club has a diverse international membership and the Anniversary Pairs was typically representative of this diversity, with players from Holland, Germany, France, South America and Britain - including several visitors. This year’s event was sponsored by Currencies Direct allowing the club to offer some extra special prizes. The top score was achieved by Mike Lawson and Peter Hindley; the other top scoring pairs were Nick and Dorien, Lyn and Gerald, and Chris and Maria.
