Finding us on BBO

HCOB sessions on BBO are private, that is to say, only BBO users who have additionally pre-notified their BBO username to HCOB (and/or the username of their guest if any) can enter the session. This only needs to be done once. Please do not leave this until 10 minutes before the session you want to join. If there are other things going on in that period, as there frequently are, you could well miss the game.

You can pre-notify your BBO username on the form at the end of this page.

The third step. After (1) registering on BBO, (2) informing HCOB of your BBO username, the third step is to register yourself (and your partner if you have one) for each tournament. How to do this third step is shown below.

Navigating to an HCOB tournament:

  • From the 'Home' screen, under the blue banner heading “PLAY OR WATCH BRIDGE”, click “Competitive”.
  • On the next page under the green banner, “TOURNAMENTS”, click “All Tournaments”.
  • In the next screen listing all tournaments, type ‘HCOB’ (for Hurlingham Club Online Bridge) or 'Hurlingham' in the search box on the top right (see screenshot below, red arrow).

NB: For those who have played at private tables before, there is an important difference with Tournaments. You are not invited to HCOB tournaments in the same way you would be if a friend sets up a private table. You have to find the session yourself with the instructions above.

IMPORTANT

To avoid sit-outs where possible, please register for the Tournament at least 15 minutes before the start. That is our protocol.

The tournament will start on time whether you have registered for it or not. Do not hang around. You can register and then do other things and come back 10 minutes before the start.

Video

If you prefer to follow guidance visually, the Andrew Robson Bridge Club's Pip Railing has produced this short video here. Clearly, you would need to replace 'ARBC' with 'HCOB' or 'hurlingham' when you search.
