  1. Apologies.     David Maysey

  1. Minutes of the Meeting on 11th October 2021.  Agreement of the minutes as drafted was proposed by Joan Young, seconded by Karen Johnson and unanimously agreed.

  1. Actions from Previous Meeting:  All actions had been completed.

  1. Chairman’s Report:    DN mentioned the return to face-to-face bridge on Mondays, Wednesday sessions having regrettably been ceased due to insufficient attendance. ‘Eastbourne’ is the next weekend with 11.5 tables. Gill Gallagher has stepped down from the committee because she cannot play on Mondays. DN expressed the Club’s sympathy to family and friends of members and former members who have died.

  1. Treasurer’s Report:    MC pointed out that the healthy balance of just over £5,000 had arisen because of the period of online sessions in which part of members’ payments to BBO were refunded to the Club via the EBU and the Club had minimal expenses. Having returned to F2F the Club had rent to pay and at current attendance levels of about 5/6 tables it was probably making a small loss. In response to questions, it was confirmed that the income from EBU was mainly part of members’ payments to BBO refunded via EBU, but also the Club had received a ‘prize’ of £200 from EBU. There is no current proposal to increase table money, but that may be necessary unless attendance levels increase. Adoption of the accounts was proposed by George Coomber, seconded by Andrew Wilson and unanimously agreed by the meeting.

  1. Election of Officers:  Karen Johnson had agreed to join the Committee. Andy Yule proposed that the Committee be re-elected with the addition of Karen Johnson but without Gill Gallagher. This was unanimously agreed.

  1. Trophies:  The Edward Bradley trophy for the most improved player in the lower half of the EBU rankings was won by Rebecca Ormerod and that for the most improved player in the upper half of the EBU rankings by Prasannajit de Silva.

  1. SIMs and Refreshments.  After discussion it was agreed to participate in the Dorin Salver SIM and to reinstate refreshments in the hope of encouraging some lapsed members to return.

  1. AoB.  Joan Young asked if it was intended to have a Christmas party. It was agreed to do so with ‘finger food’ to minimise the work involved. Usual table money would apply.

A vote of thanks to Dave Nastaszczuk for his work on the Club’s return to F2F was unanimous.

The meeting closed at about 2 pm.
