This DVD gives some very sound advice on choosing the opening lead, an area of the game that is always difficult. The first section gives all of the information on “standard” leads together with some useful information on why they are “standard”, including the help that this gives to partner.
Much is made of the dangers of leading an unsupported Ace (although exceptions are noted) and from a four card holding headed by only one honour. The dangers of leading a doubleton (again with exceptions) are demonstrated.
In all, this is a “must see” for all players. There is no doubt that everyone’s game will improve by simply improving the quality of their opening leads.
