HIWCBA - Simple Systems Pairs
There has been a mistaken idea that Simple Systems events are intended for beginners but
any who have not been playing for long feel they have a better chance in an 'open' field
when some of the more advanced gadgets cannot be used by the experts.
See below for a typical Simple System
In order to increase participation it was decided to hold heats in clubs on any day
of the chosen week during a normal club session with set hands.
Hands are computer-dealt and the deal file for use in clubs with a dealing machine
is sent out to club setters or a set of curtain cards is supplied in advance for
a setter who makes up the hands manually.
Club scorers process the results and forward the 'event' file to me and MUST NOT publish these on club websites until
after 9pm on the Friday.
Master Points are awarded in the EBU clubs section and the awards are in proportion to
the entry. Non-EBU clubs have a section of their own with a separate ranking list and
both sections are combined to produce the overall ranking list.
A commentary is available which is posted on our HIWCBA website after 9pm on the Friday.
This event can be run at very low cost but any surplus is added to our
"Charity of the Year" - HIOW Air Ambulance.
If your club would like to join in, please let Mike M-Rogerson know -
mikerogerson@ntlworld.com tel:01489 784349 and he will send you everything you need.
