Who can join?: Next Step Duplicate is open to all who can play bridge. The pace of play will be slightly slower than normal club bridge but members should be confident that they can play at a reasonable speed.

Partners: Bridge is a partnership game and you are encouraged to come along with a partner.  However, we will find you a partner on the night.

How it works? The session will run as a normal club duplicate session with a reduced number of boards, so members can have a chance to discuss the hands if they wish. There will be help on hand, so if you are unsure of a bid, or a lead, then you can ask the ‘host supervisors’ to help you look at the options?  You make the decision!  To help members improve their play, there will be an opportunity to re-visit the hands via our website.

Scoring: The sessions will be scored manually and the results will be displayed on the Bridge4All website. Results are not recorded by the EBU.  Players will be encouraged to look at the hands and consider what they could have done differently to help their play.

Tuition: There will also be 2 seminars a term with set hands.  Tuition is based on the Acol Three Weak Two system.

Systems and Aide-memoires: Members are encouraged to play English Standard modern Acol 3 Weak Twos. Other partnerships playing different systems are welcome but individuals cannot be guaranteed a partner who plays their system. We have aide-memoires but players will not be able to refer to them while playing.
