Hexham Bridge Club Trophies
The Brogdon Salver was donated by the Brogdon family in memory of their parents, Angus and Billie Brogdon who were both long standing members of the Club. It is awarded to the Pair who, having played together at least 13 times in the year, have had the highest average score during the year.
The Bryce Watson Teams Trophy was donated by Bryce Watson who enjoyed playing in Teams Events. This Teams Trophy is generally played for at a Club evening every October and won by that evening’s Winning Team of four players.
The Greene Cup was donated to the club by the founder members Alf and Barbara Greene. It is generally played for at a Club evening every February and is won by that evening’s Winning Pair.
The Ivinghoe Plate was donated to the club by the founder members Alf and Barbara Greene. It is generally played for at a Club evening every March and is won by that evening’s Winning Pair.
The John Bradley Summer Pairs Trophy was donated by John Bradley when he could no longer play bridge. It is generally played for at a Club evening every June and is won by that evening’s Winning Pair.
The Grace Lingwood Trophy was donated by Grace in memory of her daughter who died of cancer and the club is committed to pay £2 per player to Cancer Research in respect of this one each year. It is generally played for at a Club evening every January and is won by that evening’s Winning Pair.
The Tony Bell Pairs Handicap Trophy was donated by Tony Bell with the aim of encouraging people who may struggle to do well each week with a chance of winning a trophy after the handicap element is introduced. It is generally played for at a Club evening every October and is won by that evening’s Winning Pair.
Wednesday Next Step F2F Prize was a one-off prize which was awarded to the winner of the online Wednesday F2F league table during 2021.
