Hitchin BC visit from Students

Members of the Hitchin club go every Thursday lunchtime to teach Year 5 and 6 children at Samuel Lucas JMI School how to play Bridge. Recently the club ran a session where the students came along to observe and play some games with the members. See the Hitchin website for more details.

Marjorie Lukyn Charity for 2023-24 Season

The HBA charity for the 2023-24 season is Open Door St Albans. Their aim is to support people who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of sleeping rough.  The Charity funds improvements to the Open Door shelter, as well as covering the costs of outreach services and the volunteer coordinator.

Seniors Pairs

2022 winners: Fiona & Paul Littlewood

The Senior Pairs competition is open to HBA members aged 60 or over, or who will turn 60 during the calendar year. 

When: 11:00m on Sunday 15th October 2023
At: Jersey Farm Community Centre,  St Albans AL4 9RG  Map...
Cost: FREE for all players whose primary county affiliation is to Hertfordshire, otherwise £8 per pair.
Format: A two-session pairs event with a total of approximately 30-36 boards
Eligibility: Players must have reached the age of 60 by the qualifying date of 1st January 2023
Entries: Pre-entry is required. You may enter at any time prior to the day of the session. No entries on the day.
Venue: This venue has a maximum capacity of 20 tables
As soon as this number is reached entry will be closed, so please enter early to avoid disappointment.
