Bulletin

As the Covid threat level is moderate, mask wearing will be optional at bridge, although players can request that others at the table wear masks. Group refreshments are no longer being offered during the game, although players can bring their own drinks and snacks.

Generally we have resumed playing twice a week at the Heritage Hills Activities Center. The club asks that players arrive at least ten minutes before the scheduled game time, so the director can set up the movement in a timely fashion.

Guide to Bridge Base Online

When face-to-face bridge was suspended as a result of the virus pandemic, the Heritage Hills Duplicate Bridge Club partnered with the Salisbury Duplicate Bridge Club to offer games online as part of the ACBL's Virtual Club operation. Enthusiasm for online play has petered out, but the club retains the option of restarting the virtual games where there may be interest or a need.

Games are played on Bridge Base Online, 18 boards per session.

An overall guide to playing can be found in Karen Sloan's BBO FAQ document, with additional information about explaining and alerting your bids as well as an introduction to BBO chat.

You need to pay to take part in club games and most tournaments on BBO, but Casual play, whether with friends or strangers, is free. Here's Karen's guide on how to get started. She also offers some advice on how to play with BBO Robots
