HELSTON BRIDGE CLUB COVID RISK ASSESSMENT PLAN 

 

Club expectations 

 

  1. Request the venue to clean room appropriately before use 

  1. Ensure tables are spaced as distantly as possible 

  1. Ensure hand washing and toilet facilities are available at the venue 

  1. Provide antibacterial gel on arrival 

  1. Ensure bridge equipment – boards, table numbers, bidding boxes, tablets, score cards etc have been quarantined for 72 hours before use 

  1. Ensure that the playing venue is as well ventilated as possible (windows and doors will be open) 

 

Member obligations 

 

  1. Members must sign an indemnity form making clear that they are playing at their own risk and take personal responsibility for their own safety and consider the safety of fellow members 

  1. Be double jabbed 

  1. Agree not to attend if they have coughs, colds or any likely covid symptoms or should be isolating etc 

  1. Wash or sanitise their hands each time they enter the bridge room 

  1. Pay for the bridge session in advance online by paying a minimum of £10 into the Club bank account. In very limited circumstances the Treasurer may agree to accept payment in the form of a £10 or £20 note. The Treasurer has the right to refuse to accept payment in cash. 

  1. Keep their belongings separately from those of other people (bags, coats etc) 

  1. Bring their own refreshments including cups and glasses. The kitchen is not available. 

  1. Collect a bidding box and keep it with them throughout the session 

  1. Use their best endeavours to stay socially distanced on arrival, when queuing, using the toilet facilities and moving between tables 

  1. Use their best endeavours to refrain from touching surfaces unnecessarily 

  1. Bring their own mask and wear on arrival and when moving round the room 

  1. Bring their own pen or pencil 

  1. Maintain social distancing 

 

 

At the table 

 

 

  1. Only North will touch the ArcScorers or travellers and they will show the scores to East but only North will press yes or OK as necessary 

  1. Only North will move the boards at the end of each hand, touching just the North end of the board 

  1. Players will only touch their own cards and keep them in their area of the table 

  1. Players will use their best endeavours to avoid touching their faces, licking fingers, coughing or sneezing. If this cannot be avoided then the relevant player must wash or sanitise their hands before continuing to play 

  1. No one should move tables for the next round until clearly instructed that it is time to move by the Director 

 

 

 

 

Responsibility of the Directors 

 

  1. Remind players of the standard procedures regularly 

  1. Wear gloves when setting up the room and moving the boards 

  1. Clearly instruct players when to move for the next round and use his/her best endeavours to ensure orderly movement between rounds. 

 

 

At the end of play 

 

  1. Players should return their bidding boxes to the table by the door 

  1. North should return the tablecloth to the table by the door 

  1. All this should be done whilst being mindful to remain socially distanced from all others
