From April 1st 2024

A booklet will be published containing all details when membership lists are finalised but in the meantime the rules for the ongoing events are below.

** New for this year

Monday and Thursday evenings
Eisen Trophy - A pairs event.  The best 15 percentage scores will count for the final result.
Marks Trophy - A pairs event.  The best 15 percentage scores will count.  Only players graded Jack or below on the NGS on April 1st 2024 will be eligible.
Kent Trophy - An individual event.  The best 20 percentage scores will be aggregated.  Not more than five scores can be with one partner and at least six partners must be used. Only scores with HBC members count.

Wednesday evenings
Mayo Trophy - A pairs event. Only players graded 9 or below on the NGS on April 1st 2024 will be eligible. The best 12 percentage scores will count.
**Wednesday Night Trophy - This is a pairs event open to all players. The best 12 percentage scores will count.

Monday afternoons
Mrs Black's Cup - This is a pairs competition, based on a rolling handicap, and the best 12 percentage scores will count.

Tuesday afternoons
Healey Trophy - The rules are the same as those for Mrs Black's Cup.

Teams Competition
This is a Teams of 4 event and will be played on five designated 5th Mondays and Thursdays with the best three results counting.  Teams may use up to four HBC members as reserves.
Dates: Monday 29th July, Monday 30th September, Thursday 31st October, Thursday 30th January and Monday 31st March

** Most Improved Player
Ian and Mary Roger Trophy - This wll be based on NGS grades.
Members' grades will be noted on April 1st and the trophy will be awarded to the player whose grade improves the most over the year.  If members prefer to keep their grades private they won't be included in the competition.
Members must play in at least 20 Harrogate Bridge Club sessions during the competition year (April 1st 2024 to March 31st 2025) to be included in this competition.

Men's and Ladies' Pairs
Wednesday 22nd January
Monica Campbell Trophy will be awarded to the winning ladies pair and the McKenzie Trophy to the winning mens pair.
** In both competitions there will be a separate prize for the best pair based on a handicap.

Mixed Pairs
Paton Trophy - Friday 15th November (afternoon)
** There will be a separate prize for the best pair based on a handicap.

Illingworth Rosebowl
Friday 14th March 2025 (afternoon)
A mixed pivot teams competition.  All teams will consist of four club members and contain at least one lady and one gentleman.
The date for the 2024-2025 competition is to be confirmed.
