The Annual General Meeting of Harrogate Bridge Club Ltd. will be held on Monday 20th July 2026 at 7.15pm

Swiss Pairs

Our next Swiss Pairs event will be on Friday 24th July , 12.45 for a 1pm start. 

This is the first of the six Swiss Pairs sessions.  The best 4 scores out of 6 over the season will count towards the trophy which can be awarded to a pair or to an individual as it is not necessary to play with the same partner each time.

The remaining Swiss pairs will be played on the following Friday afternoons: September 25th, November 6th, December 4th, January 8th, March 19th.

As always, this event is open to all members of the club who are used to playing in standard duplicate sessions.  The first round is random but thereafter, you will be playing members of a similar standard to yourself so it's a great event to include everyone!

The Swiss Pairs events can run on a little longer than a duplicate pairs session so please ensure you allow plenty of time.

Teams of Four - Second Round

Thursday 30th July - Evening Session

This is the second of the five teams events played on the fifth Mondays and Thursdays from June to March.  The best three of five results will determine which team is the overall winner of the Teams competition for 2026-27.  Teams are welcome to play as many or as few times as they wish and may use up to four HBC members as reserves.
The remaining dates are: Thursday October 29th, Monday November 30th and Monday March 29th.

Wednesday Teams of Four 

Wednesday 5th August - Evening Session

This is the second of the five teams events to be played on Wednesday evenings from June to February.  
The remaining Wednesday dates are: 7th October, 2nd December, 3rd February.

The Northern Midweek Congress 25th to 27th August 2026 @ The Cairn Hotel, Harrogate

Run by Oliver Cowan in partnership with the EBU. Both Tuesday events are Blue Pointed. Wednesday and Thursday events are Green Pointed.

Weds 26th
12:30 to 15:30 - SWISS PAIRS (matches 1-3)

11:00 to 13:00 - SWISS TEAMS (matches 1-2)
13:00 to 14:00 - Lunch Break
14:00 to 18:30 - SWISS TEAMS (matches 3-6) coffee break after match 4

We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards.  We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded.  We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.

For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League.   Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.

Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town.  The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members. 

Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!
