Nick Woolven Seminars

	Nick Woolven will be giving two seminars for bridge club members in June at Oakdale Golf Club. Wednesday 3rd June - Teams Tactics.  Book here. Wednesday 24th June - Defence Play.  Book here.
Both seminars will start at 2pm for roughly 3 hours including play.  The cost per session is £10 which includes a cream tea.

Wednesday Teams of Four 

Wednesday 3rd June - Evening Session

This is the first of the five teams events to be played on Wednesday evenings from June to February.  
The remaining Wednesday dates are: 5th August, 7th October, 2nd December, 3rd February.

The ladies teams of four competition was held at Wetherby Bridge Club on Thursday 7th May.  Congratulations to the winning team of Catherine Thompson, Lesley Bridson, Nichola Cockerill-Smith and Gill Copeland.

Online Green Pointed Swiss Pairs - Sunday 10th May

Congatulations to Catherine Thompson, who, with her Wiltshire partner, Colin Jones, finished equal second out of 56 pairs.

Yorkshire Festival of Bridge 2026 13th & 14th June @ The Cairn Hotel Harrogate

The YCBA in partnership with Oliver Cowan present the Yorkshire Festival of Bridge at the Cairn Hotel in Harrogate.  The “Build Your Own Bridge Congress” event will allow players to pay for just bridge and refreshments.  As an alternative you may order a meal separately on the day.  There will also be prizes for each stage of the Congress - pairs, teams and NGS Jack high pairs.

YCBA AGM                    

This will take place from 10am on the Saturday at the venue.  There will also be a Zoom link available.  All members are welcome to attend whether or not playing in the Festival.

We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards.  We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded.  We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.

For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League.   Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.

Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town.  The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members. 

Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

The content of these books applies to all events held on or after 7th August 2023. Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!
