Max Rostron

It's with great sadness that we inform you all that Max Rostron died on Tuesday after battling cancer for some time.  He was instrumental in setting up a previous stepping stones session that concluded when covid struck.  Our deepest condolences go to his family.
Max's funeral will be at Stonefall Crematorium on Wednesday 17 June at 12:20pm.

Nick Woolven Seminars

	Nick Woolven will be giving two seminars for bridge club members in June at Oakdale Golf Club. Wednesday 3rd June - Teams Tactics.  Book here. Wednesday 24th June - Defence Play.  Book here.
Both seminars will start at 2pm for roughly 3 hours including play.  The cost per session is £10 which includes a cream tea.

Yorkshire Festival of Bridge 2026 13th & 14th June @ The Cairn Hotel Harrogate

The YCBA in partnership with Oliver Cowan present the Yorkshire Festival of Bridge at the Cairn Hotel in Harrogate.  The “Build Your Own Bridge Congress” event will allow players to pay for just bridge and refreshments.  As an alternative you may order a meal separately on the day.  There will also be prizes for each stage of the Congress - pairs, teams and NGS Jack high pairs.

YCBA AGM                    

This will take place from 10am on the Saturday at the venue.  There will also be a Zoom link available.  All members are welcome to attend whether or not playing in the Festival.

Teams of Four - First Round

Monday 29th June - Evening Session

This is the first of the five teams events played on the fifth Mondays and Thursdays from June to March.  The best three of five results will determine which team is the overall winner of the Teams competition for 2026-27.  Teams are welcome to play as many or as few times as they wish and may use up to four HBC members as reserves.
The remaining dates are: Thursday July 30th, Thursday October 29th, Monday November 30th and Monday March 29th.

Run by Oliver Cowan in partnership with the EBU. Both Tuesday events are Blue Pointed. Wednesday and Thursday events are Green Pointed.

We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards.  We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded.  We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.

For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League.   Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.

Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town.  The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members. 

Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

The content of these books applies to all events held on or after 7th August 2023. Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!
