Anne MacGregor
Funeral Service for Anne will be held in St John's Church, Hamilton on Wednesday 18th March at 11:00 am. Thereafter to South Lanarkshire Crematorium for committal service at 12:00 pm
Sadly, Anne passed away peacefully this morning (24th February) in Hairmyres Hospital, surrounded by Ian and all of their family. Anne had served as House Convener for over 20 years until late last year when her illness prevented her from continuing in that role and also as a Board Member. Anne was overwhelmed to receive the title of Honorary Member for services to the club on her retiral.
Anne and Ian were regulars at the Cash and Carry, ensuring that the club never ran out of refreshments and Anne could always be relied upon to make soup when the club was hosting a weekend event.
Anne played with Jack Munro on Wednesdays & Thursdays and partnered Alison Robertson on Monday evenings. Sadly, their session together on 24th November was to be Anne's last tournament. Anne will be sorely missed at the club.
Anne and Ian sang together at Hamilton Academy and romance blossomed. Anne was a member of St John's Young Wives, Ladies Circle and Tangent. They also enjoyed taking their touring caravan around the UK and further afield.
Both were staunch supporters of Hamilton Drop in Centre and worked there regularly on Saturday evenings.
Ian and his family are in our thoughts at this sad time.
