Exercise your brain with this stimulating and social game. The emphasis will always be on enjoyment! It’s the only addiction you can develop that’s good for you.
Learn to play Bridge with friendly and experienced Bridge tutor Mick Clark, accredited by the EBU as a 'Professional Bridge Teacher'.
A new Beginners course in partnership with Calderdale Adult Learning starts each September, and the first 2 lessons are free taster lessons so that you can see if it’s for you.
The Club has a dedicated first floor training room with modern teaching facilities, including a large display screen and PowerPoint presentations. The Club also has a licensed bar, large kitchen, ground floor playing area and there is ample free on street parking after 6pm.
Students start with the absolute basics of the game and by week 30 will be able to play a competent game of bridge. It is hoped that once the students have completed the Beginners course they will join the club as Member’s (£10) and start playing in Improvers sessions, and follow on to the Improvers course.
The course is 30 weeks long and lesson costs are £30 for each block of 10 lessons, plus £25 for the EBU course book “Beginning Bridge” which covers the full 30 week-course.
Lessons are from 7pm until about 9.30pm, but if you can get there for 6.30pm Mick will do a quick revision of the previous weeks lesson.
We will also be providing a free play session for Beginners from the beginning of October until the end of December, on a Friday evening from 6.45pm until about 9.30pm.
For more details or to book a place contact Mick at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07927 409 142.
Beginners Play Sessions will be run on a Friday evening from 7pm until about 9.30pm for Beginners from mid October until December. These sessions are relaxed and hosted (hosted means that you can turn up without a partner and the director will play to make up a pair if required).
Approximately 12 hands will be played.
Players can use crib sheets and ask the director for guidance.
