Competition Rules

Club Constitution:

In accordance with the Constitution a member shall be eligible to play in club competitions provided that:

    1. He has been a member for 3 months or more; or has obtained the consent of the committee and
    2. The date of his application for membership was not less than three months prior to the date of the Competition.

Club Competition Rules:

[Excluding the Presidents & Founders day and Chairmanís Charity.] The rules and format for the Presidents & Founders Day and Chairmanís Charity will be at the discretion of the incumbent President & Chairman respectively.

Competitions will be held over one or two sessions at the discretion of the committee.
No substitution shall be allowed for any pairís event.
The club would hope that members who play in club competitions would play regularly on normal club nights.

Club Teams:

This to be a team of four event staged over two sessions with up to 6 members being nominated. Any substitution for the second session to be at the discretion of the director.[Illness or family emergency being examples of allowable reasons for substitution.]

Club Mixed Teams:

Must contain at least one gentleman and one lady.

Club Restricted Teams:

No member who has the rank of regional master or above as shown in the current WBU handbook will be eligible to play.

Club Mixed Pairs:

The Flitch cup will be awarded to the highest scoring married couple in the mixed pairís competition. However if that pair has won the mixed pairs competition then the Flitch will be awarded to the next highest married couple.

Hinton Cup:

No member who has the rank of regional master or above as shown in the current WBU handbook will be eligible to play.

Lilian-Noel Jones Trophy:

No member who has more than 50 master points as shown in the current WBU handbook will be eligible to play.

General Rules
Competitions shall be held at such times and under such conditions as the general committee or any sub-committee shall determine.

Any suggestions or complaints regarding the arrangements of "The Club" shall be submitted in writing and handed to the secretary or any member of the general committee and shall be considered at the next committee meeting.

"The Club" accepts no responsibility whatever for the property or belongings of any member or visitor whilst on the premises of "The Club".

Any matter not provided for in these regulations and all questions arising regarding their construction or implication shall be decided by the general committee.

The Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary and members of the general committee shall not be responsible, either individually or jointly, for any liabilities incurred by "The Club". All members shall be equally responsible for any liabilities incurred during their time of membership.

Alterations, additions or amendments to these regulations and constitution cannot be made except by a resolution at a general meeting.
