An idiots guide to using the Jannersten dealing machine written by Sue Gray

General

1. Switch on dealing machine
2. Once green lights have flashed and rollers have clattered, open software on computer or phone. This is called Bridgesorter and is found on the icon where your Internet symbol is. Connect. Make sure Internet is OFF.
3. Once connection is established, open programme called Duplimapp. A bright green screen showing machine found and loading should appear.
4. Select New Deal from the menu.
5. Select ASCENDING, name the file (use the date you are dealing for, makes it easy to put onto website later on). Uncheck SHOW HANDS. Select number of boards. I do 28 as some table movements need 28 boards.
6. Put boards in numerical order. Load the dealing machine with 3 packs of card. (Make sure you always have on to be dealt on top of the three! (You will soon get into routine but check number as you put into machine. If by chance you put wrong one in DO NOT PANIC! Just transfer the cards to the right one)
7. On screen press GO. You will be told to insert board 1.
8. While board 1 is dealt take cards from board 4 and put in hopper. Put board on bottom.
9. You will be instructed to remove board 1. Take it out and close securely. Then insert board 2. As that is being dealt take cards out of board 5 and put in hopper. Instructed to remove 2 and then insert 3 etc. you get the picture I hope. There is no panic required at this stage, just get a routine going.
10. If machine has a cough and splutter, DO NOT PANIC! Lift cards in hopper and put down, take board being done out of machine a little way and then push back in. should start again.

After all boards are done

• Go to menu on green page, top right are 3 dots, click and a menu appears.
• Put USB into back of the machine (near the power inlet hole)
• Select EXPORT.
• PBN format
• Select USB. Should say it has been saved.
• I also save onto laptop as saves messing about later when uploading onto web site.
• Remove USB and power off machine. The green page will disappear. Close the Bridgescorer programme and open Internet access. Connect.

• First if doing later than night played.
  • Open club web page
  • On menu select [Administration]
  • Put in the password *******
  • On Tabs select [AMEND]
  • You will then see pull down menus.
  • 1st line. Select date of the night you dealt hands for
  • In deal bit select the hands you dealt. Now you see why the name is the night you deal for! This will either be on the laptop or on the USB
  • Press [UPLOAD]
• If doing immediately after dealing
  • At point 4 select ATTACH
  • Select the date of the forthcoming night
  • Select deal
  • Upload
