Release 2.19r
16.5 PayPal Payments

Due to Accounting, Security and possible Taxation issues, Bridgewebs does not have a Payment module.

However, if you would like to take payments on your web site, you could sign up to PayPal. You will probably need to sign up as a Business to do this. PayPal is effectively a Bank Account and allows you to take and make payments from it. There are several methods of using PayPal such as creating invoices, but probably the easiest and safest is to use a PayPal Button option and generate a link (Button) that can be added to any News Item.

After you have created your PayPal account,  go to your PayPal site and find the Tools and [PalPal Buttons] option and [Create new button]. See next section in Guide for example.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Copy the HTML code from PayPal. See next section in Bridgewebs Guide for example.

Now go to your Bridgewebs site and enter the HTML code at the end of the item

  • Choose the New Item where you want to add the "Button"
  • Go to "Amend"
  • Select the Editor
  • Select "Source" in top row of icons of editor.
  • Scroll to end of entered HTML
  • Right Click
  • Click "Paste"
  • Tip: Look for target="_top" and change to target="_blank" to make the button open in a new page.

Please be careful with typing in the Source Box. Please ensure that the button is at the end or, at least, not affected by any other changes.

You should now see a PayPal Button similar to below.

Bands

Now a member can select the appropriate Band and click the [BuyNow] button to go to PayPal and pay

They can use their own PayPal account or "Check out as a Guest" and pay by Card with the "Create an Account" option which allows the payment but doesn't necessarily mean registering.

Note PayPal will deduct a small charge of around 3% for each transaction, again see the details on PayPal site

Note Bridgewebs cannot access any PayPal payments, you will need to reconcile your PayPal account at PayPal.
