Release 2.19r
6.1.5 Calendar Matching

If you use the Bridgewebs Calendar for setting up events in the future, when you upload a Result, you will need to match that result against the Calendar and attach the Results to the appropriate entry.

This applies whether the results are uploaded from Scoring Software (Automatic) or using "Results Administration" and uploading by Browsing for import files (Manual)

The options below can all be set in Web Administration - Settings - Scoring.

The way this is Matched can be controlled in Web Administration - Settings - Scoring.

  1. If the club only ever has one event per day, then set the "Events per Day" to "Once per day" and any uploads or amendment to results will attach themselves to the one and only event in the Calendar. If you do, very occasionally have 2 events on one day, Bridgewebs will check and if the upload filename and the Title are different will create a new event using the Title.
  2. Bridgewebs looks for information in the Results file and matches to information in the Calendar
    • Match to Title
    • Match to Director
    • ACBL Only - Match Filename Suffix to Calendar Time. See §
    • ACBL Only - Match to Club Name. See §
    • ACBL Only - Match to ACBL No. (Only applicable if one web site is used for multiple ACBL No Affiliations) See §
  3. The Scoring program can check the Calendar and allow the Scorer to pick the Event to match and the Scoring software will upload the results with an indication of the Calendar entry to match.

When uploading and the match is:-

  1. Successful, then Bridgewebs will automatically attach the results to that event.
  2. Unsuccessful, then
    • Using "Automatic" uploading, Bridgewebs will create a new event with the Title from the Results file
    • Using "Manual" uploading, you will be given the choice of attaching to an existing entry or creating a new event with the Title from the Results file

NOTE

§ For ACBL

Match Filename Suffix to Calendar Time.

The File suffix gives an indication of the time the event is played Morning, Afternoon, Evening eg. ACM, ACA, ACE. Bridgewebs will convert the time on the calendar to a similar Morning, Afternoon, Evening  using the rule

  • Morning - 8:00 - 11:59
  • Afternoon - 12:00 - 3:59
  • Evening - 4:00 - 7:59

Thus, for clubs playing twice/three times a day and entering the time on the Calendar, there is an option to just match on Time.

Match to ACBL No

The ACBL No from the uploaded file is matched to the ACBL No on the calendar..

Match to Club Name

If a file with a matching suffix has already been uploaded, Bridgewebs can do a further check that the Club Name also matches, allowing files from 2 locations to be uploaded to the same site.
