If you have uploaded the results for a player with a particular name and you would like to use a different name, you can go to the Membership Section in Web Administration and give a player an alias. In Bridgewebs terms the Alias is the wrong name, i.e.. the name you do NOT want to use.

Then when a competition is calculated, results containing either name will be MERGED together as one.

This saves you changing and uploading the results again. It can be used where people change their name, get married or use or prefer nicknames or pseudonyms.

PLEASE NOTE. Competitions are calculated whenever applicable results are uploaded or the definition of a Competition is changed. Thus, aliases are not immediately effective.

To force an immediate change,

• For the standard completions, go to Competitions - Options and click [Save]
• For club competitions, go to the desired Competition and click [Save]

Last Played

Use the "Last Played" Tab in Admin - Membership to determine any differences in spelling of Members. Set the Aliases and then com back here and click Recalculate to check that you have updated everything correctly.

Personal Analysis

Again "Aliases" are not immediately effective and you may need to wait for further results to be uploaded. A future release will incorporate a fix to check for these.
