Help & Guide
Release 2.19r
11.4 Restrictions

You may require competitions to Include/Exclude certain players.

  • "Open Competition" - any player can qualify except when the Include/Exclude rules below apply.
  • "Members Only" - results will only be included for players on the Membership database with a status of "Member" and with a Join date at the date of an applicable event.
  • Members to Include - You can include only players with a "Comp Code" on the Membership database
  • Members to Exclude - You can exclude players with a "Comp Code" on the Membership database
  • Players to Exclude - For a limited number of names, you can provide a list of players to exclude (provided for backward compatibility or quick restriction).

The Members to Include/Exclude feature can be used with a conjunction of single character codes, thus a player can have a code of "MX" on the membership database and this will be matched if the competition has "M", "MY", "X", "XZ" etc.

Note For "Men Only", "Ladies Only" or "Mixed Pairs".

  • Men Only - Set all Men with a "Comp Code" of "M" and set the Competition "Member Competition Codes to Include" to "M"
  • Ladies Only - Set all Ladies with a "Comp Code" of "F" and set the Competition "Member Competition Codes to Include" to "F"
  • Mixed Pairs - Special case . If the Competition "Member Competition Codes to Include" is set to exactly "MF", then Bridgewebs will check that a pair has one of each.

Note - Individual Competition - Player's Partner

For Individual Competitions, you can specify whether a Player's Partner also qualifies and this is set in "Ignore results where a player's partner does not qualify?" to "Yes"

For example, in a "Ladies Individual" competition, you can ensure that the only result that counts is where both of a Pair are Ladies "F", thus excluding Mixed Pairs. If it doesn't matter who they play with, then set to "No"
