9.9 Page Options

You can change the way "News" pages are built.

  • Members Only - Choose whether this page can viewed by the public or only accessed by Members with a login
  • Restricted -  If necessary, further restrict "Member Only" pages to select "Member Groups"/"Email Groups". If any are ticked, then, only Members with that Group will be allowed to view the page. You will need to update the Membership database for each applicable Member.
  • Page Title - appears in the menu and at the top of the page
  • or Alternative Page Title - for page header only if the menu title is too short
  • Title Scroll - you can cause the title to move or have it fixed.
    • Fixed - A fixed Header
    • Scroll - Message will scroll round
    • Side-to-Side - Same but Message will reverse scroll when furthest left
    • Do Not Display - The Title and containing box will not be shown.
  • Sequence - The sequence of "News Items" is important and you may want to control the way they are shown, see News Items Sequence
    • Date Entered
    • Reverse Date Entered
    • Sequence
    • Reverse Sequence
    • Title
  • Show Date - The date entered can show under each "News" item if set to Yes
  • Page Index - A page index can be particularly useful if you have several items on the page, such as the club constitution and Bridgewebs will automatically create clickable links to move up and down the page
  • Page Layout -
    • Normal - Title at Top, content below
    • Title Left/Detail Right - Do you want the detail on the right? For example, the "Useful Links"
    • Picture/Title/Detail - Produces a page similar to the "Where & When", choose Picture carefully.
  • Layout - Do you want a normal page or the detail on the right? For example, the "Useful Links"
  • Theme - A theme for this page, this is automatically set by going to Themes and changing the theme
  • Page Header - Header information to go at the top of the page.

If you are familiar with HTML, then

  • Meta Description - Will replace standard Meta Description. This can be useful for "Lessons" say where you can enter different information and Google etc. will pick this up for its Indexes.
  • Meta Keywords - Similar
  • JavaScript - If you are familiar with this
