The Form feature can also be use to provide a public "Message Board", usually as a simpler "Find a Partner" than the Members Only.
In Web Administration
- Click [Menu]
- Click [Amend]
- Use the "New News Page" to add an entry in the menu and give it a name "Message Board"
- Click [Save]
- Click [News]
- Look for the "Message Board"
- Click [Add News Item]
- Enter some text, for example "If you would like to leave a message on this web site, please enter the details below. Please note that any information such as Email and Telephone numbers will be viewable by all, so if you do not mind go ahead....."
- Click [Save]
- Click [Add Form]
- Adjust the Form as necessary, probably click on "Club Member" and [Delete Entry]
- Important Bit: Tick "Would you like the submitted messages to show on the public page below the Form?", this changes the page from a "Contact Us" into a "Message Board", then on the actual page the [Send Email] changes to a [Post Message].
- Tick "Do you want to use the Form just as a Message Board without sending emails?", if you do not want to receive or send an email when the message is posted.
- Tick "Would you like to exclude "email" and "phone" showing?", if you would like to hide email and telephone numbers.
Then, when anyone enters a message it shows under the Message Entry
If you would like to review the messages from time to time,
- Go back to the "News Item"( Web Administration - News - select 'Message Board' from list of Pages)
- Click [Submissions]
- Tick any you would like to remove
- Click [Delete Ticked]
If you would like to provide a useful box on the home page
- Click [News]
- Click [Add News Item]
- Choose the page [Home Right Box]
- Enter title "Message Board" or "Find a Partner"
- In "Link" - "Page in Web Site" with the dropdown box choose "Message Board" or as appropriate.
- in "Plus - How to open" choose "Same Window".
- Enter suitable message
- Click [Save].
