Release 2.19r
8.5 EBU/ECATS Simultaneous sessions

If your club is participating in an "Ecats Simultaneous" or "EBU Simultaneous" event, then it is possible for the "Hands" to show automatically following the guidelines of ECATS/EBU. That is, that you SHOULD NOT publish any information for an event on your web site that show hands or shows the scores until all clubs have played the Simultaneous. For example, showing 420 which would indicate a "Game" and 920 which would indicate a Slam is possible.

First, in advance, create a calendar entry for such an event and enter the session number. You should have the "Session Number" with your pack, otherwise, you can find the session number by linking to www.ecatsbridge.com/sims/default.asp.

If you enter the Ecats Session Number for an event, when you have upload the results, the system will automatically transfer the "Hand" file from Ecats to Bridgewebs when it is available, usually sometime after midnight following the event.

Sometimes, the "Ecats/EBU Simultaneous" may be played over a period of a few days or your club may play the event in the afternoon. If so, you MUST do one of the following

  • NOT upload the results
  • Use the Bridgewebs DELAY feature to stop showing any "Traveller/Hand" information.

To set DELAY, go to Web Admin - Calendar - pick the event and then below, choose one of the delay options. If you play in the afternoon, you may need to choose the "Next Day" option to avoid showing the Hands before midnight.

Hands

Bridgewebs will automatically find ECATS Hands if you enter the session number.
Otherwise, you can attach the Pre-Dealt hand file to the event
BEFORE or AFTER the results have been uploaded.

Bridge Players are of course an honest lot and wouldn't resort to looking at results on another club's web site!!!
