Bridgewebs has a "Booking/Reservation" feature that can be used by Members to book/reserve a place in a particular event when a club has capacity limitations or for special events.
In this Guide, we use the term "Booking", but in WebAdmin - Settings - Members, you can choose what word is shown in the system Booking or reservation
In order to use this feature,
- you will need to create Calendar entries for all club events in the future, using one of the Calendar functions
- you will need to have set up the Membership database
- you will need to go to [Settings] - [Members] and turn on the options
- Do you want to use the "Booking" feature? = Yes - indicates that "Booking" features will show where applicable
- "Booking" generally active? = Yes - means all events will default to require Bookings. This can be overridden for a specific event e.g. AGM, Special Competition or Christmas Party
- Allow "Booking" through Calendar? = Yes - There are 2 ways of setting up a request, "Member Only" Tab and "Calendar Month", see below
- What term do you use for a Booking? Choose 'Booking' or 'Reservation'.
- Choice of table direction allowed? = Yes , if you want players to be able to give a preference for N/S or E/W when booking.
- this screen also holds the 'Maximum Tables (x 2 pairs) allowed per event?' - above this, entries will be flagged as 'Wait Listed' and the event flagged as 'Fully Booked'. This can be overridden for a particular event.
1) Calendar Month
The "Calendar Month" in the menu provides an overall picture of events that are available to "Book" a place, a "Booking" Icon will show and the Member can click this to access the "Booking" options
They will first need to identify themselves with EBU/ACBL number or email and optionally password (set in WebAdmin - Settings - Members Tab) then
- Add a Booking
- Add their Partner
Any Bookings will show in the Calendar and can be removed using the same technique.
2) Member Only - [Find a Partner] Tab
This feature is available through the "Member Only" login and provides a means of the Member reviewing all their requests and amending as necessary.
The Find a Partner/Bookings/Reservations is a combined Tab allowing Members to either request a partner or make a booking
There is also a variation of this in Web Admin - Membership - [Find a Partner] that allows the Administrator to pretend to be a Member by selecting the member from the dropdown list and adjusting their entries as necessary.
See the appropriate pages for more details of how it works for the Member
