Preparing for play
Preparing for play Could we politely remind members that, where possible, it is a great help if they can arrive by about 6.45 on Mondays so that play can start promptly at 7.00.  This gives the director time to organise the movement and prepare the tables.  It is fully appreciated that work, buses, unforseen circumstances etc can make people late, and this is no problem at all, but if you can, then an early arrival helps.  Many thanks.

We are also grateful to SBU Highland for grant aid received

Grantown on Spey Bridge Club is a small, friendly and welcoming club in the beautiful location of the Cairngorms National Park.

Suspension of Club Activities

Regrettably, the decision was taken at the club AGM on Monday, March 16th, that all club activity would cease with immediate effect.  The committee wishes all members the best summer break that can be hoped for and would encourage all members to consider any members they may think may will feel the loss of Monday evenings particularly severely.  Please think about using email and telephone to keep in touch.

This web page is also available to keep members informed of matters which may be of interest or concern.  Use the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of this page to inform us of anything you might like posted on this page.

Keep safe and well!

League News

On Tuesday 25 January we played an away match against Nairn. As usual it was a beautiful sunny day in Nairn which seemed to perk up the Grantown team!  After a poor first round we got into our stride and won the following three rounds.  There was the usual Grantown lull after a lovely home made tea, but we kept our ground and won by 30 IMP's, 9-3 on the VP scale.  It was apleasure for all of us playing at Nairn as they are a very friendly and welcoming team.

So far we have played all our seasons's matches and have a total score of 32.  The only other team to have played all 5 matches is Cairngorm with a total score of 40.  We won't be first (this year!) but it is most unlikely that we will be last either.  (The current positions are all available on the Highland District website.)  My thanks to all the team players and club support for the Grantown League Team 2019-2020.  Onwards and Upwards!
