President’s Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to our Bridge members both returning and new.

As your President, along with my enthusiastic committee, I look forward to our weekly competitions along with the many events we have scheduled throughout the year. 

This year we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the formal establishment of the Grange Bridge Section. We plan to mark this special occasion at our Christmas Lunch on Monday the 15th Dec. Please save this date in your diary.

I am pleased to announce the launch of a new Bridge Etiquette Booklet, compiled by Niall Barry incorporating both the guidelines of the World Bridge Federation and CBAI. This informative resource will keep us all up to date on the rules and etiquette of the game, while encouraging a respectful and enjoyable playing environment.

This year we will add a new dimension to Thursday evening bridge with the introduction of a monthly pre-bridge Early Bird Supper. This will be a lovely social opportunity to enjoy supper and conversation before our regular bridge session. I encourage all members and their guests to come along. 

 I also recommend that you all take a moment to read the Grange Bridge Section Constitution which is available on our website. It provides a valuable insight into how our club is run and the principles we follow.

Finally, I am deeply honoured to serve as your President on this our 50th Anniversary year and will do my utmost to fulfil the role with dedication and enthusiasm. I look forward to a successful, enjoyable, and memorable year.
