President’s Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to our Bridge Club, both returning members and, particularly, the new members who trained last year.

My committee and I are looking forward to our weekly competitions, along with the many special events we have scheduled throughout the year. The first of these will be our annual trip to Kelly's in Rosslare, early in November.

We will also be taking part again in the Fanagan League where we have enjoyed considerable success in recent years.  This is where our members hone their skills, which helps to lift the standard of Bridge played in the Club, and gain masterpoints. I would encourage anyone interested in the challenge to put their names forward.

Last year, we launched a new Bridge Etiquette Booklet, compiled by Niall Barry, incorporating both the guidelines of the World Bridge Federation and CBAI. Please use this informative resource to keep up to date on the rules and etiquette of the game, which encourages a respectful and enjoyable playing environment.

This year will be challenging, as we will have to vacate the Clubhouse for a few months after Christmas, while the proposed refurbishment is taking place. We are currently working to secure suitable accommodation for this period.

Finally, I am honoured to serve as your President and will do my best to fulfil the role with dedication, enthusiasm and friendliness.

I look forward to another successful and enjoyable year.
