The 2017 Charity Evening will be held on 12th July at the Goring-on-Thames Sailing Club

The Club enters a team in the Teams of Eight Competition run by the Chiltern Bridge League. In the 2015-2016 season, we were reasonably successful finishing 3rd. .  

Members are welcome to make up their own teams for the Teams of Four Competitions which involve a League and a Spring Cup.  The club will help with the loan of boards and bidding boxes. 

This season 2015-2016, we entered a team in the League and won five matches and drew one out of six but despite this good record only finished second. These matches are played in players’ homes. 

Any pairs interested in playing in teams competitions in the 2016-2017 season should let me know. Entries are required in July/August for a Winter/Spring season of fixtures.

THE PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP (Holders: Jim Kerevan and Peter Lee) starts in September and is allocated six sessions. To qualify, you should play with the same partner on a minimum of four of these evenings. If you play with the same partner on five or six of these sessions, the best four results count.

ANNUAL PAIRS for the Tozer Trophy (Holders:Martina Zwieflhofer and Mel Thomas). This is a single session competition named  after the late Brenda Tozer, played for on April 18th.

TEAMS OF FOUR.(Holders: Diana Marriott, Alun Hughes, Jack Calder and Michael Drew). This competition will be played on  Sept 12th and Oct 10th. Teams will be drawn by lots from pairs entering.

INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION  (Holder: Alum Hughes). Players will play two boards with as many different partners as time allows. Single session on May 16th.

PRESIDENT’S SHIELD (Winners: David Gardner) awarded annually by the President for some special achievement.

The Christmas Party on 14 December in the Goring Village Hall is for members only. A hot meal, with drinks, is provided followed by cheerful Bridge.
