Cheltenham Bridge Club |
As part of the Heritage Open Days, on Saturday 14th September, the club will open its premises from 1000-1600 for tours of the building and the telling of the history of the building.
Alongside that we will have some table(s) playing MiniBridge with the chance for newcomers to try it out. Details of lessons at Cheltenham BC and throughout the county will be available.

Gloucester BC is planning to take part in the EBED Sims Pairs in September, in support of the Festival and CRUK. They are also planning two drop-in Taster Sessions to entice new players, with lessons to follow.

CBC is planning to run two Taster Sessions in the room beside their venue's cafe, in the hope of catching passing trade. They'll also be taking part in the EBED Autumn SIM Pairs (with funding going to Cancer Research UK).

The NCBC are enhanced refreshments and spot prizes, with donations going to CRUK - on the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday sessions of the Festival week.

Having put a lot of effort into Cafe bridge in April (64 players, over £1000 raised for the Grace network) those organisers need a break, and so the club is settling to donate £3 per player to CRUK from their event on 11th September, and will be publicising the Festival to its members.

The Tudor committee have discussed BIABD and decided to make our normal playing event on 12th September a fund raiser for Cancer Research UK and will discuss the branding closer to the time.

Will be selling home made cakes at its session on Friday 13th September, in aid of CRUK.

Wotton Bridge Club |
Wotton Bridge Club are arranging , on Sunday 15th September, a special bridge event "Bridge with Lunch and Tea" NOW FULLY BOOKED
This will be a full day pairs competition running from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The tournament will be played at the club venue in the Civic Centre in Wotton Under Edge. It will consist of three sessions, with a cold buffet lunch with wine and soft drinks, and afternoon tea. There will also be a free raffle for all participants.
All profits from the day will be donated to the EBU’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.
Tickets cost £25 per head which must be purchased in advance. The event is limited to 32 pairs thus availability of tickets is limited. So, if any Gloucestershire bridge players would like to come along and combine seeing the delights of Wotton Under Edge with an excellent lunch, cream tea, and playing bridge in a convivial atmosphere, then please contact Richard Barlow at ‘treasurerwottonbridgeclub@gmail.com’ who will then send the payment and location details.
Wotton are also planning to run bridge taster sessions at a local secondary schools.
