  Hannaford & Smyth

2024 (November 7): Cheltenham win both H and S by large margins, click on this link 2024 HS.pdf to a summary of the results.

2023 (November 16): Gloucester win the Hannaford Cup by 14 imps 2023HandS.pdf.  Cheltenham won the Smyth.

2022: Cheltenham retained the Hannaford Cup, winning by 27 imps.

2021: Cheltenham won by a very large margin.  4 teams per club.

2020: During Covid the normal competitions were replaced by a 20 board on-line BBO match among 4 teams from each club.  Cheltenham won by 24 imps.

Hannaford Cup: teams from Gloucester play teams from Cheltenham.  Smyth Cup in abeyance.

  Match v. Tewkesbury

2020 - A very close match held on 11 February at Tewkesbury.  Won by Gloucester by only 9 imps.

An annual, friendly Teams match played against Tewkesbury, at their club (GPS use GL50 5DR), each February.

First held 2018, won by GBC (Barry, Denise, Eileen, Elizabeth, Enid, Glenn, Jez, Jon, Malcolm, Paul, Phil, Si, Stewart H, Tom, Toni, Wilf).  Planned but cancelled in 2019.

Format: About 24 boards, all play all.  Start 2pm, tea break, finish 5:30pm.  No more than 1 "expert" (National Master or above) per team (as at 2024).
