Maurie Kilby passed away on Thursday July 16, aged 92. |
Maurie was married with three children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were all very much a part of his life and he of theirs. After the passing of his beloved Norma he returned to playing bridge and became addicted! Bridge became his life. He played at Gardenvale three times a week and was adored by his partners. Sometimes he would arrive needing a partner and was always happy to partner anyone and everyone very happy to have him as their partner. Maurie was also a fantastic cook embracing all cuisines. He loved good food and fine wine and would invite friends over to share his wonderful meals that would take him hours to prepare.
He also loved golf, watching cricket and football and followed Carlton through thick and thin. He was a very caring and thoughtful soul who loved people and was loved in return. Maurie passed peacefully and with dignity.
He died a gentleman and will be sorely missed. Vale Maurie. Rest in Peace.
