FYFIELD BRIDGE CLUB (2015)

HEALTH SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDING POLICY

 

The Fyfield Bridge Club (2015) (FBC) is strongly committed to encouraging its members to take part to ensure that the health well-being and safety of each individual is always the paramount concern and all members and visitors including any vulnerable adults or children have without exception the right to protection from inappropriate behaviour or abuse regardless of age gender ethnicity disability sexuality or beliefs.

 

The FBC will

  1. Appoint a Health Safety and Safeguarding Officer (HSSO) to manage with health safety and safeguarding responsibilities
  2. The HSSO will undertake regular, recorded risk assessment of the club premises and all activities undertaken by the club.
  3. Ensure that all members are aware of, understand and follow the FBC Health Safety and Safeguarding Policy (HSSP).
  4. Create a safe environment by putting health & safety measures in place as identified by the assessment.
  5. Ensure that normal operating procedures and emergency operating procedures are in place and known by all members.
  6. Provide access to basic first aid facilities at all times and telephone whenever possible.
  7. Record and report any injuries or accidents sustained during any club activity or whilst on the premises of Fyfield Village Hall.
  8. Ensure that the implementation of the HSSP is reviewed regularly and monitored for effectiveness.
  9. Any concerns or allegations of abuse will be dealt with by the HSSO and Committee Members without delay and in an appropriate manner.

 

Club Members or Visitors have a duty to

  1. Take reasonable care for their own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what they do or not do.
  2. Co-operate with the club on health & safety issues.
  3. Correctly use all equipment provided by the club.
  4. Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for their health, safety or welfare.

 

Vulnerable Adults

Where vulnerable adults are involved additional considerations will include

  1. Appropriate seating, lighting and sound system available.
  2. Assigned host if required.
  3. Appropriate disabled toilet facilities.
  4. Wheelchair access and movement in the building.
  5. Support for restricted movement.
  6. The HSSO and Committee Members to endeavour to ensure that all club members and visitors have a clear understanding of such individual’s needs.

 

This policy statement is fully supported by the Fyfield Bridge Club (2015) Committee Members who with the HSSO are responsible for the implementation and review of this policy statement at yearly intervals.

 

Date for next review 1st November 2018 and annually thereafter.
