Membership Rates at FOBC for the Season 2023/24

By joining FOBC you will be automatically be entitled to the following club member benefits:-:

1. FREE ADVANCED &/OR BASIC BRIDGE SEMINARS: These are given by a leading county player and are held on a weekly basis via Zoom - An excellent way for any beginner or average club player looking to improve their game Plus, you will be given free permanent access to all notes/slideshow and  recordings (recordings only available for a limited period of time) after the end of each session
2. FREE FOBC LEAGUE FEES & TABLE FEES: By playing in any of the FOBC Pairs and/or Teams Leagues you will experience the competitive side of bridge played in a relaxed and friendly basis. - Help is available to find partners and team-mates if required.
3. FREE ONE-2-ONE MENTORING AT CLIVES BIDDING CLINIC: Contact Clive to book in for your slot to improve your bidding and/or learn new conventions from one of the clubs expert players - Available on an individual; pair; or on a group basis if you prefer
4. FREE ASK THE EXPERT: We all come across particular play or bidding problems at table. Why not email the full hand and query to Clive or Oliver who are always happy to offer expert adivce and give their solution to any problem you may have come across.
5. NEED HELP FINDING A PARTNER(s): Either on a 'one off event or a long term regular basis' - You can now contact Oliver (ocbridgecomps@gmail.com) who is always willing to help
6. FREE MEMBERSHIP TO THE (EBU): Whereby there are many benefits including free receipt of....
   • 18 Month Pocket Diary
   • EBU Members Magazine (four issues per year) - Packed full of expert articles to help you improve your game, plus news of bridge played throughout the UK and the rest of the world
   • Master Points - A fun way to measure your progress and personal lifetime accheivements; monitor your own promotion through the ranks, from Local Master Player right up to Grand Master Player. These can be COLLECTED FREE by playing in any of the above FOBC's Duplicate Events
   • The EBU's National Grading Scheme (NGS) - This measures your current form against all other members in the country, see how you compare against the leading players in England. Also available FREE by playing in any of the above FOBC's Duplicate Events
7. HEAVILY SUBSIDISED FOBC DUPLICATE EVENTS: Which offers all FOBC members to....
   • Play in an organised competitive event - another club event played in a relaxed and friendly manner
   • Play with any partner of your choice - everybody including non-members are welcome to play in any of the clubs regular duplicate events
   • Use clubs standby/host system - which gives any/all FOBC members who register to play as an individual, the peace of mind, that they will be gauranteed a partner
   • Access the EBU's NGS and master point scheme - as previously mentioned above
   • These duplicates are currently available - every Sunday, Monday* and Wednesday evening starting at 7.15pm and every Wednesday* starting at 10.45am. *Video chat is currently used in these events
   • Assisted and supervised sessions available - throughout the year, with set hands to help beginners learn vital topics and to help existing players improve specific areas of the game
8. ACCESS TO ALL MEMBER PAGES ON THE FOBC WEBSITE: Packed with lots of information about ways you can, learn, play, improve and enjoy the game of bridge
9. MEMBERSHIP OF THE OLIVER COWAN BRIDGE CLUB: As an FOBC member, you will also be entitled to play in Oliver Cowan Bridge Club events, giving access to games 6 evenings a week between the 2 clubs.

Membership fees for the year are just £35 if you are using the teaching offerings and just £10 if you are just a playing member.
