Falkirk Bridge Club is very sad to announce the death of Leslie Cembler who passed away at home on Thursday 15th May 2019. A private funeral has already taken place.
Leslie had been a member of Falkirk Bridge Club for a very long number of years and a further tribute will appear shortly.
The 2019 Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 15 April, bringing the winter season 2018/19 to a close. Members decided amongst other matters to continue over the summer with Teams as usual, competing for the Ross & Bridie Trophy and the handicap trophy. All teams are welcome. Members were keen to identify alternative premises for next winter sseason, and the committee will be attending to this over the next few months. The committeee membership was unchanged. Falkirk Bridge Club meets every Monday night in the Falkirk Rugby Club, Sunnyside, Dorrator Road, Camelon, FK2 7YW at 6.55pm. The format is duplicate bridge and the club season runs from September to the end of April. The club has two teams in the East of Scotland League and two in the Falkirk and District League. Home league matches are at the church hall of St. Mary's of the Angels RC Church, Watling Street (off Glasgow Road) Camelon, Falkirk FK1 4HX. The hall is behind the church in Brown Street.
Every Monday during the summer there is an open teams of four competition playing for the Bridie & Ross Trophy. Play begins at 6.55pm and visitors are welcome. Contact details can be found in the Committee section in the information pages.
The Bridie & Ross Summer Teams starts on Monday 23 April 2019 and continues through until the start of the winter season in September 2019. All are welcome. Best 7 scores will count, one substitute being allowed for each of these scores. There is also a concurrent handicap competition. All welcome, the more the merrier!
