Catriona ( 3NT ) Lovett (Love it)
It is with much sadness I have to report the passing of Catriona on 25th March after losing her battle with cancer. One of the longest bridge players in the county and regular entrant to Green pointed and National events, Congress and holidays also a regular County player. Our paths first crossed in the early 1980’s in the Cancer research competition. The partnerships she formed were long standing and I am blessed to have played with her for many years for the county, National events and local clubs as I know others have in the past. Bridge was such an important part of her life and I know she will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Even during the last few years she was always worrying about her husband John and putting herself 2nd, refusing to stay in hospital after her operation and also after having an asthma attack during the National Pairs final persuading the consultant she had to let me take her back to Essex. Such was her drive and dedication.
She will be missed by all.
