Condolences by Ian Moss:
Like everyone else, I was saddened to hear the news about Margaret. I would just like to record a personal note about her.
I knew Margaret for over 50years, from when I started playing Bridge. In those early days Margaret encouraged the many young people who played and organised an Essex under-25 pairs event (the original Eve Goblets) and an inter-county under-25 teams event. These competitions were an early stimulus to young aspirations.
That is only a small example of what Margaret did for Bridge in Essex. Many other tributes will try to reflect the extent of her work and influence in the county and at national level. However, what we may say can never fully gauge the impact of Margaret's contribution which we all still benefit from today

Condolences by Marc Chawner:
I have only partnered Margaret ONCE in my lifetime, but I was reminded of that occasion when I was traveling up at the weekend to play in the Ranked Masters Pairs Tournament.
We partnered each other virtually 40 years to the day, when playing in the Ranked Masters Pairs Tournament in the category of National Master.
I remember being scrutinised all weekend by eagle-eyed George, making sure I didn’t make any silly mistakes.
We came 5th in the event, even without any practice.
Mind you, Margaret was the one bridge player whom you did not need any practice with……She always had her bid.
